Die Tagung „Records Management in Verwaltung und Privatwirtschaft – Gemeinsamkeiten
und Unterschiede“ möchte die Spannungsfelder einer modernen Aktenverwaltung
ausleuchten und in diesem Zusammenhang insbesondere die Gemeinsamkeiten und
Unterschiede der zwei Bereiche anhand vordefinierter Leitthemen herausarbeiten. Dabei soll
deutlich werden, dass es sowohl Anwendungsfelder gibt, in denen sich Verwaltung und
Privatwirtschaft gegenseitig befruchten können, als auch Gebiete, die relativ inkompatibel
sind.

Information governance seems to become a new runner: the upcoming ARMA Legal Information Technology Conference in November 2010 (San Francisco) has put it on the Agenda: Call for papers - the range of topics is broad - The theme of this year's event is, "Mitigating Risk and Maximizing Revenues With Information Governance." - see:

PS:
Information Governance is becoming a new generic term and notion to describe all corporate activities concerning information management compliance (IMC). However the challenge lies in the art of a consistent integration and consolidation of all related disciplines. This is tough and depends on each corp. culture and priorities of roadmaps. It's not easy to say here: "The whole must be more than the sum of its parts."(Aristotle)
... a lot of theory and noise.
On the other hand there is tendency to come down again to hard facts and first value and manage corporate data in the right way to serve the business and deliver the ROI.
like Tony Fisher's book Data Assets which is really interesting. The term "information" does merely appear here. But we can bill this story in a tangible way and the outcome is adding value and competitive strenght ....

The Digital Preservation Training Programme (DPTP) is an intensive 3-day course designed for all those working in institutional information management who are grappling with fundamental issues of digital preservation. It provides the skills and knowledge necessary for institutions to combine organisational and technological perspectives and devise an appropriate response to the challenges that digital preservation needs present. DPTP is operated and organised by the University of London Computer Centre with contributions from leading experts in the field.
