Interesting but ambitious scope:
There are many ways of categorizing content and, as distinctions blur, none is wholly satisfactory. Nevertheless, the work to develop the scope of this Strategy identified four reasonably indicative, although sometimes overlapping, sources of digital information:
- Public domain and civil society
- Academic and research community
- Government and public sector
- Business and corporate world

nächsten Jahres ein „Lexikon Dokumentenmanagement und Archivierung“ heraus.
Es richtet sich sowohl an Unternehmen der Privatwirtschaft als auch an die
Verantwortlichen in der öffentlichen Verwaltung. In über 450 Stichwörtern werden
internationale wie nationale Standards ebenso in praxisnaher und leicht verständlicher
Sprache erläutert wie behördenspezifische Begriffe aus dem Registraturwesen und der
Schriftgutverwaltung. Die ausgewählten Stichwörter berücksichtigen neben dem
aktuellen Stand der Diskussion auch die zu erwartende mittelfristige Entwicklung
von Standards, Normen und Produkten.

On Monday, November 12, 2007, Judge Henry H. Kennedy, Jr. adopted the Report and Recommendation of Magistrate Judge John M. Facciola and ordered the White House to: “preserve media, no matter how described, presently in their possess[ion] or under their custody or control, that were created with the intention of preserving data in the event of its inadvertent destruction.”

Memorandum der SAGW

Die Schweizerische Akademie der Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften (SAGW) hat am 8./9. November 2007 in Bern eine erfolgreiche und rege besuchte Tagung unter dem Titel „Das digitale Gedächtnis der Schweiz: Stand, Herausforderungen, Lösungswege“ durchgeführt. Die über 200 Teilnehmenden zeigten sich besorgt über die mangelnde Koordination und Kooperation im Bereich der Langzeitaufbewahrung digitaler Datenbestände und verabschiedeten dazu ein Memorandum.

ARMA International will host a roundtable discussion on information governance
and records management, Dec. 6, in Brussels. The event, Information Governance
and Record Management: Corporate Governance, Multi-Jurisdictional Compliance,
Litigation and Transparency, will include key policy makers from the European
Union institutions, stakeholders and RIM professionals discussing information
management issues such as corporate governance and records management,
e-discovery, and data protection.

Dr. Jürgen Tiedje, Head of Unit for the European Commission DG Internal Market
and Services, will be a featured speaker at this year's event. He will discuss the
Implementation of the 8th Company Law Directive on Statutory Audit which
forms part of the EuroSOX llegislative package.
