ARMA Swiss Chapter: foundation
Since longer time there were discussions about a possible formation of a Swiss Chapter of ARMA. During the last months as these ideas have become more concrete , Jürg Meier (Fontis) and myself are now planning and promoting such a chapter endorsed by the European Chapter (Brussels).
There are currently 26 ARMA members in Switzerland which allows us to go ahead. Main conversation language will be english as there are some members from major international organizations and multinational companies.
In case you are interested to join pls fill in the survey ;

precondition of joining the Swiss Chapter is to become a member of ARMA International.

Important: We will not ask for additional fees beside your annual ARMA International membership fee (175.- $). So every ARMA member in Switzerland may opt in for free and you will automatically become a member of the Swiss Chapter receiving mails and invitations for local events. We also get support from the European Chapter (Brussels) and can use a sub-section of their Website to present ourselves (http://europe.arma.org/Welcome.aspx).
Remind: pls reserve the date of 29th November 2011, afternoon for a free inaugural event and conference in Basel - provisional program:
BS-ARMA (pdf, 129 KB)
- Invitations will be sent upon your answers in the survey.
One of our activities will also be to gain more ARMA members in Switzerland.
We would also like to inform interested members from Germany & France to attend future events. (german associations: VdW (Vereinigung deutscher Wirtschaftsarchivare) and DGI (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Informationswissenschaft & Informationspraxis) both have developed some activities in Records Management during the past years.
Of course we also welcome members from French associations like ADBS (L'association des professionnels de l'information
et de la documentation) or AAF (Association des archivistes francais).
