Partnerships have emerged as the most viable strategy for securing the resources necessary for preserving state government digital information. Whether these partnerships span units within a single agency or multiple state and local governments and in some cases the federal government, their development requires knowledge of capabilities and priorities to be shared among potential partners. This report provides the baseline knowledge necessary to launch these critical partnership development efforts.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a report Aug. 18 on NARA’s fiscal 2006 expenditure plan for the program, called the Electronic Records Archives. ERA is a $308 million project to preserve government records regardless of format and make them accessible on future hardware and software.

Die Welt-Anti-Doping-Agentur (WADA) hat sich
für den Einsatz der Softwarelösungen für Dokumenten- und Records
Management von Open Text(tm) (Nasdaq: OTEX, TSX: OTC), eines
führenden Anbieters von Enterprise Content Management (ECM)-Software,
entschieden. Die Agentur, die dem Kampf gegen Doping im Sport
verpflichtet ist, wird mit den beiden Komponenten aus der Open
Text-Lösungssuite "Livelink ECM" die Informationssicherheit und
-kontrolle managen, Aufgaben automatisieren und die interne
Kommunikation verbessern.

Den Zuschlag für das Projekt EVA2007 (Elektronische
Veranlagung und Archivierung) hat die Steuerverwaltung des Kantons
Schwyz an die Interact Consulting erteilt. 85 000 Steuererklärungen
bzw. 4,5 Millionen Seiten Papier sollen künftig automatisiert
verarbeitet werden.

La Semaine du Document Numérique est une manifestation biennale coordonnée par le Réseau Thématique Pluridisciplinaire Document du département STIC du CNRS, et regroupera en un même lieu un ensemble de manifestations scientifiques portant sur l'objet « document numérique ». L'objectif est avant tout de faire se rencontrer des communautés scientifiques travaillant sur un même objet dans des disciplines scientifiques diverses incluant des informaticiens, des historiens, des linguistes, des cogniticiens, des pédagogues, etc. Cet objectif vise à renforcer les liens interdisciplinaires entre les communautés des sciences et technologies de l'information (STIC) et des sciences humaines et de la société (SHS) afin de dégager des méthodologies innovantes s'appuyant sur des outils, des usages et des concepts complémentaires aux disciplines.
